MPWIU Gets Active

The Ministry, along with members from the agencies under the WIU umbrella, formed two teams, male and female, to represent at the annual SEP interagency governmental volleyball and basketball tournament in the effort against NCD’s and to maintain a healthy, balanced lifestyle. The RMI, is amongst the nations with high numbers of diabetic cases, is proactively combating this through this initiative.

The women’s team showcased their unmatched volleyball skills and youthful vigor with a mix of young and experienced team members who displayed great teamwork with captain Evelyn Kabua at the helm. Along with Evelyn, Kimberly Lakjohn, Karen Liu, and Irene Lektak proudly represented together with reps from MWSC and MEC. The team played well despite not making it to the final stages of the competition.

The men’s teams competed well in both volleyball and basketball with the majority of the players from MWSC. The Ministry’s Tall Man, Dylan Maddison proudly represented at basketball.
